Okay, so we missed the 40th reunion.  Perseverance is a wonderful thing, and our class is blessed to have a group that was not going to let this 4th decade since our graduation get by without a reunion.  There was a planning meeting on January 28, 2012 and the date is set for the 45-year class reunion!  So on Saturday, October 4, 2014 we’ll have a gathering of all the classmates we can find and/or talk into attending.  It will be exactly that — a gathering — very informal, laid back, a nothing-you-have-to-go-out-and-buy-a-new-outfit-for event (unless you’re like me and plan to drop about 30 pounds).  Seriously, it will just be a bunch of old (and I suppose I mean that literally, now!) classmates getting together to share some memories and yuks.

The committee wanted to make sure they planned it far enough in advance so you can clear your busy social calendars for the event.  I think they were successful on that count!  A 2 and 1/2 year notice should suffice!  At this point, it looks like the venue will be Louis Cernoch’s place and I’ll put the directions up a little later – maybe a year before we have the thing.  I don’t feel rushed on that thing – I’ve got a year and a half to make that deadline.  It’s a good thing to work on a project without a timeline pressure!

In any case, the timeline looks like this:

February, 2012 – Build out this website (the committee wanted this over FB page)
March, 2012 – Begin gathering Bios/Contact information about classmates.  They can be referred to this site (THS69.com) and fill out their information which will populate our list.

As we move closer to the date, I’m sure there will be more meetings where details will be fleshed out, so if you do see this site before IT is ‘fleshed out’, please do check back.  Realistically, I don’t expect to have it finished until mid-March due to other things being higher on the urgency list.

Lastly, about the title of our webpage – People have been buying up domains (website titles) that have .com in their address for almost 20 years now.  So it’s hard to find a .com domain for sale, but THS69.com was available, and I bought it.  It is short and relevant to who we are, and should be easy for us to remember.  All you have to do is enter ths69.com in the address bar and that’ll bring you here.  It isn’t a real sexy domain name, but it’s short and it works!
